As my design style is changing, I find that coming up with fresh designs has been taking me longer than normal to create. Sometimes one card can take me an hour to make!
That's crazy!
So! How long does it take you to create a card? Do you sit and stare at your supplies like I sometimes do, until something finally pops out at you?

If I have an idea in my head then I can whip a card/project out pretty quickly. It doesn't always look exactly how I pictured it but it does get done. Other times, like on Saturday when I was doing my DT project for wednesday, it took me half the day! I have no idea why other than I kept moving things around and hating it so I just kept on until I did like it! LOL When it comes to mini albums.. sometimes it's there and I can get them done in a couple days and other times I have to set it aside and come back to it. It all depends on the mojo and these days it is come and go! LOL

About 30 years ago my mom was working at a very fancy dancy dress shop. They were going to have a sale, and being such a fancy little "shoppe" took their sign needs to another fancy little "sign shoppe." The sign shop charged them $150 (30 years ago mind you !) to conceptualize the sign that said "sale". Yup, that is all it said. And another $600 or $700 to actually make and deliver it.
I forego the conceptualization, and just get to work. Never have anything but a very vague idea, which is probably why it takes me hours and hours of sweat to make only one. Maybe I should rethink how I do things ...

My husband was laughing at me the other day because he found me just sitting in my chair, staring off into space. On the days when crafty mojo just isn't flowing, I do something else - blog, sort cards for submissions, my shop, donate, etc, or organize my supplies. Sometimes just seeing something I haven't used in a while will spark something.
When I am feeling crafty, sometimes I can't work fast enough to get everything out. When that happens, I usually lay out bases, papers, stamps and embellishments I want to use and come back to it when I can work on it again.

If I do a little planning ahead of time like picking out a sketch and focal image then I might, just might, get a card made in a couple of hours, otherwise it could be a day or more. Just call me tortoise.

It really just depends...I can whip one out super quick, like 15 minutes, or it can take me a few hours.

I alternate between quick and easy cards and then I will labor forever on a card. Lately when I find myself bored I will sketch out some ideas and then use them later to save time.
