Have you ever tried to change your "crafty style" as things change (or new trends) come out in the industry?
I try to stick with what I know and love to do. I find stamping and coloring to be most difficult for me. A lot of people are great stampers, but I don't try to fit into that mold. I like to try new things but if it doesn't work for me I tend to shy away from it.
What about you?

I'm not even sure how I'd categorize my style so am not sure where it has evolved from or where it is headed. I definitely can't be who I'm not - I can't do tons of frou frou layers and don't head too far off into shabby/vintage territory. Bright colors scare me so you won't ever confuse me for Dawn McVey, lol. I think the best thing to do is to adopt trends to your style, not the reverse.

I like to think of it as growing ! But there are things I would love to try (like putting a dunce cap on a child in a photo) that I think are just trends, and I don't want to look like 100 others either.
I am like you, Angi - coloring is just a bit out of my range. I finally learned how to stamp correctly, but my coloring looks like a child's. If I keep trying though, a little bit at a time, maybe I will finally find a little skill. That is all I really need anyway.

I agree with the colouring. I don't stamp too much but because of this awesome Design Team opportunity I am learning too. I'd like to learn to use Copics properly.

I actually just did a video on YT of an entry that I did in a Travelogue for Lynne. Her theme was what is your style/ where do you get your inspiration and so it explains exactly how I feel about that! LOL www.youtube.com/user/EmoraDesigns#p/u/0/7oTV1QPUv2MI don't really know what my style is either. I tend to just go from one project to another gaining inspiration from multiple places/things and ideas sometimes just come to me. I love to try new things. I would love to feel more comfortable with lots of layers and collage.

I tend to do more vintage/shabby cards as my style, but I do like to try new products and take a shot at what's trendy in the moment. My style sometimes changes how my mood changes too!

I feel like every project, whether its a card, scrapbook page or 3D item is like a blank canvas and I can play with different ideas that that I see either online or in magazines. So I am trying to keep my mind open to new ideas and techniques. The one thing I really want to do is learn to sew on my cards. I just think it adds such a rich look but I never seem to reach for my sewing machine (and sadly, it is right there are my craft station!).

Trying to rein in my budget has definitely made me cut back on trying a LOT of the trendy stuff, but that's a good thing. It's taught me not to impulse buy. I do try new things occasionally. Using Copics has been my newest "new thing". I'm definitely still in the learning process and those were definitely a major purchase but I have so much fun using them so it was worth the expense. I can't really describe my style. I'm kind of all over the place. LOL

For me I love using lots of layers and textures like sewing or adding fabric. I am always drawn towards other designers who have lots of details into their cards. To me they seem so fun and spirited that each time you look, you may notice some detail you missed the first time.
