Happy Valentines Day!! I hope you all have a fabulous day. Do you have plans with someone you love for today? Did you make any crafty Valentine's projects? My husband and I are on the side of it being a commercial holiday and we just don't spend money on it. We are always really good about sharing how much we love each other on a daily basis

We're doing dinner and a movie. I've been wanting to see The King's Speech for ages and we're finally making a point to go. I don't mind the commerciality (is that a word?) of the holiday but am grateful because this is the last in a long line of stuff for us (his birthday, Christmas, and our anniversary) and I'm plum out of ideas for something special to do by now, lol. Phew, nothing until late October now!

I have been thinking about Kristina's post all morning, and I just have more and more questions! If the commercial aspect of it is bothersome do you make each other things ? What about dinner, do you just eat the usual food or ? Do you not plan special things on other days too, like birthdays, Christmas, anniversary and Super Bowl ? What do your kids think ? Will they (or do they) follow the same customs ? What if their sweethearts don't wanna do that ?
I awoke to special coffee, tulips and a love letter. Tonight we meet with our contractor, so nothing fancy in my plans. We already did a cooking class together for our Valentine Treat. It was wildly fun.

Nothing here on Valentine's Day. Hubby took DD for the day. Then I had a parent teacher interview. Then hubby had to go to work and 6pm and got home after 9pm. So nothing for us. Oh and for dinner we had left overs hehehehe.
I wasn't up to doing anything this year. But I do think the holiday is cute.

My plans were to make my hubby his favorite gumbo dinner and give him the Valentine Book of Love card I made him plus a few little candy treats he likes. Gumbo was cooking away and he calls and says we're going out to dinner that I deserve that. No flowers, they'll just die and no candy cause I'll tell him I don't need to be eating that. Bottom line--I got roses, candy, and dinner and I have dinner already cooked for tomorrow. LOL He loved the card too. I couldn't ask for a better Valentine's Day!

We exchange cards, maybe a small gift. And we get the kids something small. This year we had a Valentine's snack as a family.

My hubby had to work a 12 hr shift so we just had a simple dinner at home with our girls. My hubby did bring me some red tulips and a bag of lindt chocolate (my Fav!). I gave him a handmade card with a little note inside. My girls and I made crafts and did a Valentine photo shoot! I made a Valentine's day layout that you can see by following the link below. emoradesigns.blogspot.com/2011/02/happy-valentines-day.html

My husband and I usually keep it simple. It is a special day for us as it is the day I proposed to him...yes ladies, I proposed to my husband. So the only thing I require on Valentines Day is that I do not have to cook, So, this year, the hubs, son and I went out to a Chinese Buffet for dinner. Cheap, simple and I didn't have to cook it or clean up after it!
