This is my week to host the QOTD here at the board and I'm excited to think up some questions for us to answer (I'm really hoping some great ideas will pop into my head as each day this week passes... we'll see however) ha!
Okay... I got an insider tip that the new Cricut Magazine is not getting as many quality submissions as they hoped for and this really surprises me to hear that! Do you have plans to submit any projects to the new magazine? (if you own a Cricut that is I guess right??!!).

I mentioned before here on the boards somewhere I think that I have three projects in the first magazine (I missed submissions after that) but submitted a layout for the June/July issue that got accepted. I just finished two cards for the special birthday feature, but have no idea whether they will be picked up or not. I also have an idea for the August/September issue, but haven't finished it up yet.

Hmmmm... I have a Cricut, but the only cart I have is George. I use SCAL exclusively. Beth - do you know the website where they list their submission criteria ?
I would love to know if they acknowledge SCAL as a viable alternative, or if carts only are required.
If they are having difficulty in getting really good submissions, it would be amazing if our readers and design team took advantage of that.

Interesting! I own a Cricut too and hardly ever use it. Maybe this is just the push I need to submit my first project for publication and to use my Cricut more often.
Beth, can you give us some tips for submitting?
Oh and I saw the issue on the newstands now and saw 3 of your projects! That was so cool to see your name in print. Congrats!

www.scrapbooktrendsmag.com/submissions.html#cardsAbove is the call list for Northwest Publishing that includes the Cricut Magazine as well as Scrapbooking Trends and Cards magazine too (as well as a few more mags they publish)... I don't have any information specific to give you about getting published in Cricut Magazine (except you have to use Cricut cartridges... I don't think they consider SCAL (because they of course want to sell their cartridges with the magazine...but I'd write to the editor to find out for sure) However, if you want some great advice about getting published, Dawn McVey has this information that is super helpful ... dawnmcvey.typepad.com/these_are_a_few_of_my_fav/publ.html

I got bored with using my Cricut. It tore some of my fave paper too. Just got frustrated with it. I'm really wanting a Big Shot now.

I got a Cricut for Christmas over a year ago and have barely touched it. I think because my crafting space is small and outlets are tough to get to from my desk it makes it tougher. We'll see if it gets used when we move.

I have thought about submitting to it but I haven't purchased the premiere issue or subscription as I feel it is too rich for my blood right now. But, I guess it I submit and get published I could at least get a free issue out of it! : )

I have a cricut and was using it more than normal before the move which is good! I will have to check it out! It just might inspire some great projects, not to mention it gets me using my machine!
