Sometimes when I need some inspiration or when I only have a few minutes to work I will make some little things ahead of time.
What about you - do you make flowers or tags, die cuts, run a bunch of things through the cuttlebug OR ?
And the bigger question, do they get used once you do that ??

I do all the above. My grandson loves the Cuttlebug, and he will crank through a bunch of cardstock when he comes on Sundays. I do use dies and my SCAL ahead of time, make flowers, and I make lots of tags. (who would have guessed that ?) Sometimes the tags are just cut and inked.
I look through this stuff pretty regularly as I often get into a flurry while working, and having something ready to go is great.
One reason I really enjoy doing this is my mojo doesn't need to be in full gear. Another reason is that I think of my craft room as a little "shop" where I have everything I need for a particular card, and I can browse around my stuff. I swear this really is a mojo on switch.

I wish I did the same thing. Instead, I make stuff like flowers or die cuts and it doesnt end up working out on my design so I keep it in my stash but then almost never use it! I wish I could work better on the fly. I might have to try your idea with die cuts I know I use most often. It sounds like a great time saver!

I used to do more in advance but when I ended up with a stash of cut out stamped images, die cuts, etc in a box and then couldn't seem to place them on anything, I stopped. I still have a couple snowflakes - mica'd and everything! - that won't see a home until next winter, lol!

I always start fresh when designing. My style mood changes way too much! I may need to try these tips out though. They are great ideas.

I've tried to do it, but the stuff never gets used. So, I stopped and just dive into a project. With two little ones at my feet I'm always getting interrupted anyway.

uummm....I don't make things ahead. I just sit down and create from beginning to end on each project.

Sometimes I will make flowers and such ahead of time because those almost always get used and I sometime will die cut frames because it's just easier to grab.... as for everything else they are in a box hidden and I don't use them.
