I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones yesterday. It's such a special time of year. I am sure most of you took lots of pictures during the holiday. This leads me to my question for you...
What ways do you store all of your photos?
My method is to store them by year, then by event. As I save my photos on my computer, I name them all by the event that way I am sure to find what I am looking for. I also use Picassa software because of their face recognition feature. So if I ever want to find photos of a certain person, the face recognition will show me every photo that they are in. It's a great tool and I love how it saves me time when I'm looking for a particular person. Plus, it's a free download!
How about you? What's your method?

My method is that I have no method! I am TERRIBLE at organizing my photos... I really need to make a New Year's Resolution to do better!

Prior to last year, my photos are a wreck. I do have plastic storage bins with most stuff sorted by child. But last year I had all of my photos printed (all at once, I think the lady at Walgreens wanted to kill me) and I have them in a photo storage box all lined up in date order. I really like that system and I'll probably do it again for 2010 photos.

If I did that, I would never leave the store. I have way too many!

The majority of my photos are stored on my computer. I did have them organized in folders by month and then year. If it's a special occasion I usually try to make that it's own folder. My photos that are printed are in day/month/year order. I have so many photos that aren't printed it's insane!!
LOL Kristina, I bet! I would have to give them a month to print all mine! LOL We are talking a 1000 or maybe 2!! LOL

All my 35mm "old" pics are stored by date and in negative order in photo boxes. When I started scrapping I went through ALL my photos and matched negatives and numbered them so I could easily find the negatives if I needed to make another print. I bought negative sleeves and have them all stored in a three ring binder. As for my digital pics, they're all on CD's and what's currently on my computer in on a thumb drive.

Prior to digital my photos are all in photo albums in date order and I have journaled all the dates and places etc. The negatives are all stored in order and numbered and I made a list of what is on each negative to make it easier when I am looking for something.
I have also started converting these to cd's so I can put them on the computer.
the digital photos are stored in month and year folders. I also write a list of the descriptions so it makes it easier when looking for something.

I have mine saved on my computer. They are filed and categorized. I really need to take time to back them up. I also store some on Kodak Gallery and Flickr.
