As I was blog surfing yesterday I read a post about a layout recipe that this blogger liked to follow. She makes a layout on the 8 1/2 x 11 scale and then attaches it to a 12x12 piece of paper/cardstock. I think that is a great idea and I really liked the results of the layout. There is also an article in the Nov/Dec 2010 Creating Keepsakes Magazine about Recipes for quick and easy layouts. My question for you today is:
Do you have a "go to" formula for your layouts/cards? If so, would you like to share?

Sadly I just smoosh stuff around on my desk. If I had a formula maybe I wouldn't spend so much time staring at it.

No formula - I just grab a stamp set or some paper and see what works with it. I do have a philosophy when making cards - make two! As long as the set is inky, make the same or a similar card with different dp or different colored inks. Makes stashing up cards for different occasions much easier!! Great idea!

No formula. It all depends on my mood. Sometimes my layouts are so simple and other times I spend stacks of time fiddling and adding bits and pieces.

I dont have a formula either but I do the same as Jen and when I make a card, I will make 2-4 of the same card to build my stash. I haven't been doing that as of late though! I have heard of the "formula" that you are talking about Kristina, I have heard it called Progressive Scrapbooking. You usually start with a single photo on a card front or 6X6 scrapbook page, then you add that to an 8 1/2 X 11 and then that to a 12 X 12. Here is a link. www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/techniques-f11/progressive-scrapbooking-t31211.html
